Why undergo a spill remediation?

spill remediation for sand spill

The negative effects of agents like asbestos, bacteria and mold may be tough to understand because they aren't always easy to see. With chemical or hazardous material spills, however, most of us can plainly see the major physical threats they cause.

Not only can spills physically harm people and wildlife that come into contact with them in the short term, they can also cause long-term environmental damage, just as we've seen with major oil spills covered in the news.

Choose an experienced spill remediation company

Naturally, any major spill of hazardous material requires remediation as quickly as possible. And it's important to find qualified, trained experts to complete that work for you.

Spill remediation & clean-up via MUD-LOC

Drilling waste is common in the areas surrounding Calgary, Alberta, and to eliminate the risks of hydrocarbon release we stabilize oily drilling waste using MUD-LOC, an amorphous alumino-silica that absorbs liquid contaminants and has some unique properties:

MUD-LOC logo
  • An enormous surface area: an 8oz glass of MUD-LOC has the surface area of 1 hectare
  • MUD-LOC can consume up to 95% of its volume in liquids
  • It has an ionic affinity for most harmful heavy metals and is highly attracted to hydrocarbons
  • Once absorbed, contaminants will only release from MUD-LOC under severely extreme conditions

With MUD-LOC we have the processing capability to stabilize and encapsulate anywhere from 10 to 10,000 tonnes of waste.
